Selena Gomez Defends Hailey Bieber, Says Model Reached Out to Her About Death Threats She also followed her on Instagram.
Selena Gomez is putting a stop to the drama with Hailey Bieber.
For weeks, the Internet has been spiraling over the stars’ alleged feud over Justin Bieber and obsessing over Hailey’s supposed attempts to copy or mock Selena over the years. Neither party had publicly addressed the rumors, but this morning, Selena spoke out, defending her ex’s wife.
“Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity,” Selena wrote on her Instagram Story.
Fans have been assuming there is a feud between Hailey and Selena since the model got together with Justin in 2018, weeks after his breakup from the Only Murders in the Building star. But last year, the ladies put those claims to rest by happily posing together for photos at the Academy Museum Gala.
Still, rumors of a feud between them reignited this year—all because fans claimed Hailey and friend Kylie Jenner made fun of Selena with a post about their laminated eyebrows. Since, the Rhode founder has lost thousands of followers (and seemingly gotten death threats), while Selena has gained millions.
But Selena has never blamed Hailey for the end of her relationship with the “Peaches” singer and is now openly supporting her, despite her and Justin’s continued silence on the matter.
“This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying,” Selena added in her statement. “I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop. ♥️”
What’s more, fans noted Selena even followed Hailey on Instagram today after their message interaction.
